Office of Supervisor
The township supervisor is the chief executive officer of the township. The supervisor serves as supervisor of General Assistance and chairman of the township board. The supervisor is a voting member of the township board. The supervisor has financial reporting responsibilities, as the treasurer of all township funds including cemetery funds, and is the ex officio treasurer of the road and bridge funds.
Townships have been granted various powers to address the needs of their constituents and the activism of their officials. Along with statutory responsibilities, Joliet Township Government also provides services such as senior support, animal control, youth program assistance, and cemetery maintenance.
