Senior Exemption Freeze
If you are age 65 or older with an annual household income of $55,000 per year or less, you may qualify for this freeze in your property taxes. Please call the Joliet Township Assessors office at 815-726-5446 for details.

Medical Loan Closet
Disabilities that are temporary or transitional still present an immediate need for durable, medical aids. Residents may borrow an item at no cost to them.  The following items may be loaned from the Medical Closet:

  • Wheel Chairs
  • Walkers
  • Portable Commode
  • Canes
  • Crutches
  • Other

To check availability and borrow Medical Aid items, contact the Township Office (815) 726-4781.

Residents wishing to donate a gently used item are welcome to call and check to see if we are in need. While we try to accept all donations, due to space limitations, it isn’t always possible.

Senior Tax Levy Program –

The Joliet Township Senior Tax Levy Program provides funding for non-profit Senior Citizen Organizations who rely on grants to assist in funding their organization’s programs, services, and activities for Senior Citizens in Joliet Township.

To be eligible for consideration of funding through the Senior Tax Levy Program, the organization must serve senior citizens within Joliet Township and must be a non-profit agency. Senior Citizen Organizations interested in applying for funding through the Joliet Township Senior Tax Levy Program must complete an application.

Information contained in the applications submitted by senior organizations is used by the Joliet Township Board of Trustees as a basis for determining the allocation of funds for this program.
