DESCRIPTION:DHS Center for Prevention Programs and Partnerships\, the Strong Cities Network\, and the National League of Cities Present: Cities as Partners in Prevention \nJoin us for the Center for Prevention Programs and Partnerships (CP3)’s Prevention Forum on July 11th to hear from state and city leaders\, including Joliet Township Government’s Director of Violence Prevention Keshia Ellis\, about how they have sought to prevent targeted violence and terrorism and build resilience. \nPresented with the Strong Cities Network and the National League of Cities\, panelists will discuss Illinois cities as examples of the unique role of cities in targeted violence and terrorism prevention. \nWho Should Attend? \n\nState and local elected officials (e.g. mayors\, city council members)\nCity managers and staff\nCommunity leaders\nAny skilled and knowledgeable professional who directly or indirectly prevents violence by helping people develop the knowledge\, attitudes\, and skills they need to achieve safe\, positive\, healthy outcomes\n\nWhile run and moderated by our multidisciplinary team at CP3\, the core of the information will be provided by our panel: \n\nEric Arnold\, Program Director of the Illinois School and Campus Safety Program & Co-chair of the Targeted Violence Prevention Subcommittee of the Illinois Homeland Security Advisory Council\nKatrina Thompson\, Mayor\, Broadview\, Illinois\nNancy Rotering\, Mayor\, City of Highland Park\, Illinois\nKeshia Ellis\, Director of Violence Prevention\, Joliet Township\, Illinois\n\nThere are a limited number of spots for this forum. Please RSVP as soon as possible.
