As Township Supervisor, Daniel L. Vera is the Chief Executive Officer of the Township.  He has several duties to carry out as mandated by order of the Illinois General Assembly. 

The Supervisor:

• Administers the General Assistance program;

• Serves as Chairman of the Township Board of Trustees;

• Is Treasurer of all Township funds;

• Is Ex-Officio Treasurer of the Township's Road & Bridge funds -- making sure that Joliet Township's public tax dollars are properly invested and spent according to state law.

Vera was appointed Supervisor in December 2004 upon the retirement of Stanley B. Waznis, and was elected in April 2005 to serve a full 4 year term.  He previously served as the Township Tax Collector as a member of the Joliet Township Senior Advisory Committee. 

With a life-long commitment to public service and community involvement, Vera worked for 12 years as Executive Assistant for the Will County Executive, and served as co-chair of the Public Service Division of the United Way of Will County. 

He currently serves as a member of the Board of Directors for the following:

• Senior Services Center of Will County

• Rotary Club of Joliet

• Old Timer's Baseball Association

• Will-Grundy Medical Clinic

• Collins Street Task Force
