Township Clerk Marilyn Budde brings over 21 years experience in Township government to the job.  She has a strong background in the Block Grant Program and Senior Citizens Tax Levy awards. 

She is the first woman in Joliet Township to hold the position of Town Clerk.  She was appointed in 1995 and has been elected three times - 1997, 2001 and 2004.  Preservation of the Township's records has been one of her main concerns in office.

A lifelong resident of Joliet,  she attended Washington and Sacred Heart grade schools, and graduated from Providence High School.  Marilyn is the daughter of the late Dorothy (nee Kelly) and John H. (Jack) Meyers and was married to Richard L. "Dick" Budde (deceased) for 45 years.  She is the mother of four adult sons and has been blessed with seven grandchildren. 

Budde is a member of the Clerks Division of the Township Officials of Illinois and is Treasurer of the Township Officials Association of Will County.  Additionally, she is a member of the Will County Historical Society, the Irish-American Society of Will County, Friends of the Joliet Public Library, and the Will County Farm Bureau.  Past positions held include former member of the Will-Grundy Medical Clinic Board, president of the Council of Catholic Women, and former Woman of the Year.
