Dedicated to fair assessments and treating the people of Joliet Township with respect and kindness, Joliet Township Assessor Jim Brenczewski administers an efficient and professional office. 

Brenczewski's experience includes the Will County Board of Review and the Chief Deputy of Will County Supervisor of Assessments. 

He is a member of the Will County Assessors Association, and the Illinois and International Assessing Organizations (IAAO). 

Brenczewski is the son of the late Edward and Elie (Rivera) Brenczewski.  He is married to Mary (DeChecko) and is the father of three children, Missy, Jaime and Ryan. 

Jim also is a graduate of Joliet Central High School, Joliet Junior College and Western Illinois University.  As a member of St. Paul the Apostle Parish, he serves as an Eucharistic Minister.

Responsibility of the Assessor's Office:

  • Place a market value on all real property within a 36-square mile area for the purpose of Ad Valorem Taxation

The assessed value (assessment) is 33 1/3% of the full market value of the property.
